No School Like Old School?

I have been perusing some truly inspirational blogs covering retro gaming, especially with some lovely old school Citadel Miniatures, most notably being SOMEWHERE THE TEAS GETTING COLD which has an amazing pile of classic miniatures such as this Orc army:

Orcish Horde from Somewhere The Teas Getting Cold

Theres also the REALMS OF CHAOS blog with its franky jaw dropping painted chaos army:

Chaos Warriors from Realms Of Chaos

Theres many more to choose from and I am thinking of having a bash at sculpting some old school styled stuff in 15mm scale. This fits in rather nicely with Leviathan as its existing miniature range is rather old styled and will allow me to get some warbands put together which will be suitable!

This will also allow me to put together a couple of forces for the classic Warhammer Fantasy Battle 3rd Edition amongst others!

I will be cracking on with the project at some point over the next month or so so keep your eyes peeled!

All the best!

Sunday 28 August 2011

Well i have begun shifting stuff out of my flat and into our new workshop! I must admit that I am very keen to get the process finished so I will be able to get on with sculpting and casting stuff again!

We are hoping to be finished by mid September which will allow me to get down to work soon after! Also my business course has financed me getting my own casting machine so I am looking forward to getting it so I can experiment with casting myown miniatures using it along with more traditional resin casting.

This means I wont be posting here too often for a while as I get my self sorted. I will be posting sneak peeks of the concept art, sculpts and eventually the miniatures themselves. Where you may ask? Well I will be using my Space Cow Smith blog to cover it all as I am hoping to produce a load of random bits and bobs for a wide range of genres.

Worry not! I will continue updating this blog with an assortment of bits and bobs including my old school sculpt project which shall be unveiled at some point next month!

Once we have the workshop set up I will get some photos uploaded. Until then all the best!

Lack of Progress Report

Well I have to admit that I haven't had much chance to get anything done with my Leviathan project over the last few weeks. With the combination of back problems and the prospect of my contract at work coming to an end much of my spare time has been spent in search of a new job which handily coincides with me needing to find a new flat!

I am hoping to be organised by the end of September so will be carrying out regular updates from then!

Hopefully I will be able to get some of my sculpts cast up then as I have been offered some workshop space for free which will allow me to crack on with with work!

All the best!

Shiny New Purchase!

Well the first round of the great clearout has been completed! Hopefully folks will have use for the loads of bits I have sent them!

In other news I have got myself an ipad 2 as part of a business course I am on and am currently fiddling around with it with the intention of using it to store all my wargaming rules on which is a lot more handy than the laptop.

I am just wondering what folks are using their techie gadgets for?

As it has a built in camera I suspect it could come in handy for recording battle reports too!

I still need to get the hang of it before trying it out!

All the best!
