Law Enforcement

Hi!

Just a quick update this morning with some assorted gubbins that's been sat primed in my bits box for quite some time!

Police Skimmer K17 encounters some perps

The skimmer is originally a 15mm.co.uk figure with a lipped 30mm base to bulk it up a bit. I must admit that the sculpt itself is pretty crude but with a lick of paint, it does the job and will make a fine and quirky addition to law enforcement on Farpoint.

Skimmer K17

As you can see from the pic, the figure is a bit on the course side but it reminds me of the villains skimmers from The Incredibles!

Next up, there's Gort, the first member of my Demihuman force:

Gort

Gort is from the Star Vikings range which I sculpted when I was at uni. I have converted him a bit, reworking his power fist, shoulder spike and face and this former gladiator will make for a decent shock trooper with his flame throwing fist and flail!

I've got a half dozen more assorted Demihumans in the paint table and hope to have a decent squad or two to add some hired muscle to either my Imperial or rebel forces soonish!

Hopefully I will have some more stuff to add to the blog in the next few days but in the meantime, All the best!

  1. Lovely stuff indeed, I detect a definite boost in enthusiasm and enjoyment now you’ve returned to 15mm! The skimmer is great, just the kind of quirky toy I prefer with my hobby these days.

    1. All too true!

The smaller scale gubbins has proved to be just the thing to relax with after a stressful day at work!

I'm awaiting a delivery of GZG goodies to add to my collection so no doubt there will be more gubbins soon!

The skimmer paints up surprisingly well and I am even tempted to add a couple more to my fledgeling law enforcement!

      All the best!

  2. With a little bit of conversion it could work as a robo roulette wheel or even a floating bar!

  3. I like all of these guys. The buildings are really good, too. Are these forces for a game, or are you just building up a little town (like me!)?

    1. Thanks!

To be honest, I am just pulling random stuff out of my bits box and painting it at the moment but as I do, I find myself building little warbands who then seem to want to fight each other so there's been 3-4 solo games played over the last week or so since I went back to 15mm.

I'm not sure what it is about the scale that makes it so instantly gamable.

      All the best!

    2. What kind of rules are you using, if home brew what could you compare them with?

    3. Hi!

I'm a bit of a hoarder of rules with everything from Rogue Trader to Vor, Void 1.1, No Limits and many more being tried from time to time but at present I am smooshing up Song of Blades and Heroes into a more shooty and less pushing back and forwards sort of an affair!

      All the best!
