Rogue Trader Reprint Available Again!

 Hi!

Just a quick post this evening as I've spotted that Games Workshop has reprinted the classic Rogue Trader rulebook which is excellent news as getting a second hand copy of the original will set folks back over £100 on Ebay these days and the shiny new hardback is available at Warhammer World for £40.

While this is great, the problem is that it is only available in Warhammer World and cannot be ordered online. You cannot phone them up and order one. You cannot get it through Games Workshop stores. You can only get a copy if you actually go to Nottingham, into Warhammer World and buy it direct.

While I can understand the idea of a store exclusive, I cannot help but wonder why Games Workshop don't make it more readily available to buy to those who aren't willing or able to travel all the way to Warhammer World to pick up a copy themselves. I'm fairly sure that if they put it up on their online store, even as a limited time deal, they'd sell thousands of copies.

As much as I'd love a copy, I cannot see myself travelling all the way from Dundee to Nottingham just to get one. If anyone is in that neck of the woods though, please feel free to give me a shout and I'd be more than happy to pay for book and postage.

All the best!

  1. Right, I could even understand a games workshop brick and Moter store exclusive as well. But only in Nottingham? Very strange practice for a company that likes money.

    1. Indeed! I emailed them to see if I could place an order and they were pretty apologetic but said it is a store exclusive.

GW does indeed love the moneys so I can't really understand why they don't make it more widely available, especially as they've also reprinted the two Realms of Chaos tomes as well.

Instead what seems to be happening is folks buying it from Warhammer World and then tripling the price and putting them on ebay.

Ah well, I've got plenty of other projects to work on!

    2. Oh man, I got all excited, but that walk from Ohio is a real kicker. I just can't hold my breath that long.

Seriously would love a copy, too bad that it s a store exclusive.

    3. Gosh! I thought the trek from Dundee was bad enough!

Hopefully they'll get it into their heads that if they sold it through their online store, they'd sell lots more...

  2. I will never understand GW. They make no sense. Glad I got a copy from my comic shop in the 2nd ed days.

    1. Sadly I've owned several copies of it down the years but sold them off when I went off to uni in 2006 and now the second hand market has gone mental to the point that a book that was selling for around £40-£50 about two years ago regularly sells for £100+ now.

      Madness!
