Hi!
Just a quick update this evening as Nic Evans has launched his new Kickstarter for Planet 28 2nd edition!
I've been a massive fan of the first edition of the rules since picking it up during the first lockdown and absolutely love the simplicity and infinite convertibility of the rules and will be backing the 2nd edition as it's going to combine the original, the three expansions and indeed revised and updated rules and if he gets enough backers, an awesome sounding supplement too!
I highly recommend folks take a peek as the cheapest level of support is for the PDF for £1.00 which is an absolute bargain whilst the hardback book will be £17.00 which I'll be going for as I totally want a physical copy for my collection!
Thanks for the heads up on this!
ReplyDeleteQuite alright!
DeleteI'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the new edition as Planet 28 is rapidly becoming my go to ruleset for small scale rpg like skirmishing!
Whilst I have yet to play, after a thorough read it’s certainly looking to end up the same for me. I thought Grim Dark Future might work but it’s too focused on larger battles. I like the personalization options of P28 and the simplicity for a fun game that isn’t bogged down by too many special rules etc
DeleteI look forward to seeing what you come up with!
DeleteIt kind of reminds me of Rogue Trader combined with a super slimmed down Inquisitor and it's so easy to convert, add to or change whatever elements you want I'm really excited to get my hands on the newest edition and plan on celebrating with a proper oldschool style campaign!
Oh this is great! One of those games on my list I haven't picked up yet. Glad I waited now, as a hardcover version sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteThe revised edition has incorporated all the fan feedback and will be including an Open License which will allow folks to publish their own settings, games and campaigns using the Planet 28 system which is quite exciting!
It's also looking like it's been such a successful kickstarter already that Nic is adding extra elements to the game and possibly even an extra supplement so I'm really looking forward to seeing what the game looks like!
