Lockdown 2.0 Project Log Day 38: Abomination!

 Hi!

As promised, here's the big guy I've been working on over the last couple of days, the terrifying Abomination!

The Abomination

Originally he was a cheap Gormitti toy that I cut off the original odd head and sculpted my own alongside some biorganic cables. He also had a spike for aa hand so I turned it into a claw for extra pinching factor.

The Abomination is one of the larger and more unpleasant bio constructs created by the twisted science of the Dark Legion and is a rampaging titan of destruction. Eschewing any ranged weapons, the Abominations thick carapace and dense musculature is proof against any small arms and quite a few heavier weapons. It will attempt to charge whatever foe it sees and revels in destruction making it a terrifying foe.

The Abomination has only been sighted recently on Genos XV and is responsible for the utter destruction of several Imperial patrols and outposts leaving a gory path of dead in its wake. Pict capture has identified the beast as originally being Altus Torrence, a Xeno Explorator whose expedition vanished over a year ago and until the appearance of the Abomination, was thought dead. It now appears he fell into the hands of The Tekrons of the Dark Legion and has been twisted into the terror he now appears. The fate of his companions are still unknown.

Under the basic pre-painted scheme, there's actually quite a nice model with interesting armour and he makes for quite an effective bio-beast for the Dark Legion, a Dreadnaught for Chaos types or even one of the larger gribblies for the Plague. He cost me about £3.00 back when I was at Uni about ten years ago and I suspect is available super cheaply on Ebay. While the sculpt is a bit cartoony, theres some nice figures in the range that would make awesome Elementals, beasties and whatnot for any game system with a bit of work and are great for gamers on a budget.

Armoured Buttock Plates are a must!

I did a bit of experimenting with the paint scheme, going for a ruddy pink to represent flayed skin and raw flesh and quite like how it turned out. The spikes could have done with being sharpened up a bit but he'll do.

I now want to get some Undead Legionnaires and a Necromutant to add to my Dark Legion force but will have to wait till Warzone Eternal comes out (or I can find a bargain on Ebay!)

Imperial Security Troops have a bad day...

Speaking of Warzone, I've just sat and watched the VIDEO of Res Nova founder Alex Kanous in discussion with Bryan Steele, Warzone Eternal's rules and background writer and am really loving how things are developing. I am literally on the edge of my seat for more information on Warzone Eternal and really look forward to seeing what the rules, miniatures and artwork are like. If you're interested in how things develop, it's well worth taking a peek at the video and joining the Warzone Eternal Facebook Page.

    1. There's some really handy and cheap miniature proxies to be found with toys. A bit of bodging and a repaint and you have a handy addition to your collection!

    1. Thanks!

It's a bit cartoony but does the job for a big bad in a game!
